I looked for a Subaru Select Monitor SSM1 and had no luck on ebay, but i'll keep checking every now and then. How does one clear codes? I've got a Check engine light that keeps coming on, I'm petty sure it is related to the exhaust leak, which I hope to fix in the next week or two. He also said he would test the cable and that extra long legth. He said i'd be able to read the following. I just found someone else who said they will make a custom one for me - I asked for 15' minimum, but would love to get 20', as I don't know exactyly how I'm going to route this cable, but I'd rather have more options - then be a 1' short. I'm not sure what that means - but could be the wonky behaviour. I'm wondering if the wonky behaviour is due to the USB extension? I've read that USB cables for this application have a length limit. All of the other software seems to work with the Evoscan cable. I have downloaded a number of other software applications that can display ROMs, realtime data, and touble codes for our early ECUs. If you just search SSM or Subaru Select Monitor, you will see some results there. I also putchased a Subaru Select Monitor SSM1 (Little blue box off of a seller on Ebay.) This is the factory diagnostic tool. You can log and get realtime data and digital gauges though - which is nice. You can not display or clear codes with it for OBDI Subarus. It's been ok, but sometimes a little wonky. I purchased the Evoscan cable and software. Posted: Mon 1:41 pm Post subject: Re: evoscan cable for OBD1 to USB Anyone gone this route - or made their own? I see evoscan makes such a thing - but I can't tell how long their cable is - and I don't see any contact info for them. I found the OBD1 port, and want to get some cable to connect this to a tablet or laptop up front, so I can monitor while driving.
